A fast-casual burger joint has plans to expand its presence in the Valley.

Kansas-based Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers broke ground at two upcoming locations, one at 39520 N. Daisy Mountain Drive in Anthem and another at 1363 N. Arizona Ave. in Gilbert.

The Anthem location is slated to open by the end of the year, and the Gilbert location will open in early 2017. Both spaces will seat approximately 100 and come with additional patio space.

“We’ve been looking to expand our presence in The Valley for quite some time,” said Craig Newman, franchise operator, in a statement. “We chose these two locations partly because of the surrounding residential neighborhoods. Both sites are family-oriented areas and a good match for our restaurant concept.”

Freddy’s currently has 15 locations in Arizona, with the most in Gilbert. With the addition of these two locations, as well as an upcoming location in Yuma, the burger joint will have 18 in the state.
