Construction Starts on Freddy’s Burger Joint

In&Out Staff Writers — You don’t see a lot of construction in Anthem, so anyone driving along Daisy Mountain Drive lately has probably noticed the future Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers going up on the corner at Dedication Trail in the Fry’s plaza.

The fast-food chain, serving its signature flattened burgers, matchstick fries and freshly churned frozen custard, is due to open by the end of the year, according to the company’s web site. There will be seating inside for about 100 with additional patio space.

“We’ve been looking to expand our presence in the Valley for quite some time,” said Craig Newman, franchise operator, in a statement. “We chose these two locations [another is opening in Gilbert] partly because of the surrounding residential neighborhoods. Both sites are family-oriented areas and a good match for our restaurant concept.”
