That dirt moving on 47th Avenue west of Lowe’s soon will be home to Greeley’s newest burger joint.

Developers of Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently broke ground at 4735 25th St. in a new development west of Lowe’s, according to a Monday news release. It is expected to open later this year.

“Greeley guests have been requesting that we join their community. We can’t wait to start serving the Greeley area,” said Mark Siffring, franchise owner, in the release. “Our hope is to be a convenient dining option for travelers along U.S. 34, as well as those looking for a quick place to eat after an afternoon of shopping at CenterPlace of Greeley.”

This will be the fourth burger-specific chain to open in Greeley in the past three years. In 2014, Stuft Burger Bar opened in downtown, and Steak ‘n Shake opened at the CenterPlace shopping center. Good Times opened in March at 4359 CenterPlace Drive.
