CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – Fast-casual restaurant franchise, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, recently broke ground on E. Main Street across the road from Kohl’s in Main Street Shopping Center. The restaurant is slated to open in late summer. Menu items include lean ground beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as an assortment of dessert treats prepared with a choice of freshly-churned chocolate or vanilla frozen custard. A Freddy’s restaurant is also under construction in Snellville at 1770 Scenic Hwy., in Park Place shopping center. It is projected to open in mid summer.

“Main Street Shopping Center is a prime location with a great selection of family-friendly retail establishments,” said Nick Esterline, franchise owner. “We feel Freddy’s is a good fit and we hope to be a convenient dining option for area shoppers and local residents.”

The 3,200 square-foot, free-standing restaurant is being developed by TGC Development Group out of Wichita, Kan. It will seat 100 guests, with additional seating on the patio; drive-thru service will also be available. The restaurant will be operated by JRI Management out of Salina, Kan. The management company also operates the Freddy’s locations in Duluth, McDonough, Athens and Conyers.

“To craft our famous steakburgers, we press the patties thin to create deliciously crispy edges,” said Jason Ingermanson, franchise operator. “A guest favorite is the Original Double, which comes with two lean ground beef patties, two slices of melting cheese and a few fresh toppings, all on a toasted bun. You’ll want to save room for dessert, because frozen custard is richer and creamier than traditional ice cream and we make ours fresh onsite throughout the day.”
