CHADDS FORD/WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Fast-casual restaurant franchise, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, recently broke ground on Wilmington Pike, across from Penn Oaks Golf Club. Slated to open in the spring, it marks a second Pennsylvania location for the retro-style restaurant, which also has a site in Broomall.

“We made our Metro-Philadelphia debut in 2012 when we opened in Broomall, and our focus has been on creating brand awareness and building rapport with our area guests,” said Steve DiMarco, franchise owner. “We’re grateful to have reached a point where our fan base would like to see us expand and we feel the Wilmington Pike retail corridor is a great neighborhood for our second area location.”

The 3,200 square-foot, free-standing restaurant will seat 100 guests. Drive-thru service will also be available. Menu items include lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh several times throughout the day.

“A guest favorite is the Original Double combo meal,” said DiMarco. “It comes with two thinly-pressed steakburger patties we sprinkle with our famous seasoning and then sear on a flat grill until the edges are crispy. We top the patties with cheese, mustard, pickle planks and onion slices, and serve on a toasted bun alongside a heaping portion of our crispy shoestring fries.”
