COLUMBUS, Ind. – Fast-casual restaurant franchise, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, recently broke ground at 3660 Jonathan Moore Pike on a location slated to open late November. It will mark the second Indiana location for the Kansas-based franchise, which also has a site in Evansville.

“We’re excited to bring our family-friendly restaurant concept to the Columbus community,” said Duncan Savage, operating partner. “We’ll be located just west of Interstate 65, easily accessible to those traveling through the area. We hope to be a convenient dining option for local residents, area shoppers and guests of nearby hotels.”

The 2,960 square-foot, freestanding location will seat 100 guests, and will have additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available. Menu items include lean ground beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and crispy shoestring fries, as well as a large assortment of dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is freshly churned several times throughout each day.

“We’re known for the Freddy’s Original Double,” said Savage. “It comes with two steakburger patties we press thin, cook on a flat grill, and sprinkle with our famous seasoning. We top the patties with two slices of cheese, mustard, pickle planks and onion slices, and serve it all on a toasted bun. We like to call it a ‘better burger.’”
