GONZALES, La. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently broke ground on the southwest corner of Duplessis Road and Airline Highway, near Le Blanc’s Food. The fast-casual restaurant franchise is slated to open in the fall, and joins two other Baton Rouge area locations at 13636 Millerville Greens Blvd. and 6464 Siegan Ln.
“We chose Duplessis Road and Airline Highway due to the steady flow of traffic through the area,” said Nick Esterline, franchise owner. “We feel Gonzales area guests will enjoy our family-friendly dining experience and atmosphere that also offers a hint of nostalgia.”
Developed by TGC Development Group based in Wichita, Kan., and operated by JRI Management based in Salina, Kan., the 3,010 square-foot, free-standing location will seat 100 guests and will have additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available. Freddy’s is known for its lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh several times throughout the day.
