ROCK HILL, S.C. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently broke ground in the 2800 block of Cherry Road across from Home Depot in Rock Hill. The new restaurant is slated to open by fall, and will mark a third Freddy’s for the Charlotte metro market. The first opened in Concord at Concord Mills shopping mall in November of 2015. A second Concord location broke ground earlier this month on Concord Parkway across from Carolinas Medical Center Northeast, and is on track to open this summer.

“Growing throughout this market is very exciting,” said Dave Dreiling, franchise owner. “We’re also planning a Fort Mill site and hope it’ll join the Rock Hill location later this year. The Cherry Road retail corridor in Rock Hill is a prime location with popular points of interest to help drive traffic through the area. It’s just off I-77 so travelers headed to and from Charlotte can grab a quick bite to eat at Freddy’s and be back on the road in no time.”

The 3,500 square-foot, freestanding restaurant will seat 95 guests and will have additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available. Freddy’s is known for its lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh throughout the day.

“Many of our guests mention that they love our atmosphere,” said Dreiling. “The décor is reminiscent of the late 1940s and early 1950s, which lends a hint of nostalgia, but it’s also contemporary. We have bright, digital menu boards and try to play a variety of classic tunes mixed with Top 40 hits to create an environment that’s comfortable for guests of all ages.”
