GONZALES, La. – Fast-casual restaurant concept, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, opens in Gonzales on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 14659 Airline Hwy near Walmart Neighborhood Market. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Ascension Chamber of Commerce is planned for 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 23. Representatives from CASA Gonzales plan to be in attendance. CASA Gonzales will receive 10 percent of sales from all regular and large size frozen custard treats sold through Nov. 21.
“Our newest opening marks a third Freddy’s restaurant in the Baton Rouge area,” said Nick Esterline, franchise owner. “We’ve enjoyed getting to know the community through these locations and look forward to expanding our family-friendly concept in the southeast part of the area.”
Developed by TGC Development Group based in Wichita, Kan., and operated by JRI Management based in Salina, Kan., the 3,010 square-foot, freestanding restaurant seats 100 guests and has additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Freddy’s is known for its menu of lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh throughout the day.
“Guests often ask about our most popular menu item,” said Jason Ingermanson, franchise operator. “We’re known for our Original Double, which starts with two steakburger patties that we press thin on a flat grill and sear until the edges are crispy. The burger is topped with two slices of cheese, onions, pickle planks and mustard, all served on a toasted bun. If you’re a first-time guest, we recommend you give it a try and finish off your meal with our Signature Turtle Sundae.”
