WICHITA, Kan. – Fast-casual restaurant concept, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, celebrates the 92nd birthday of its co-founder and namesake, Freddy Simon, with 92-cent frozen custard treats. The special, one-week offer begins Feb. 17 and lasts through Feb. 26.

“At 92, Freddy still loves to visit the Freddy’s restaurants, greet guests, sign autographs and chat about the family photos on the walls that highlight his life growing up on a farm in Kansas,” said Scott Redler, COO. “We hope you’ll stop in this week for a frozen custard treat and join us as we celebrate the inspirational man and World War II veteran whose lively spirit, values and tradition of service are the foundation of our restaurant concept.”

Guests who visit participating Freddy’s restaurants during the celebration week can purchase a 92-cent single scoop of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard served in either a traditional cake cone or a dish. Fans are encouraged to send Freddy a personalized birthday message and photo through Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Well-wishers should use the hashtag #HappyBDayFreddy and tag @FreddysUSA for a chance to be featured on the restaurant’s official social media accounts.

“A life-size cutout of Freddy Simon is available at participating restaurants for guests to take pictures with,” said Redler. “Hundreds of photos poured in last year and, together with his family, Freddy was able to look through all of them. He looks forward to celebrating his 92nd birthday in much the same way: with family, friends and FredHeads.”
