DUBUQUE, Iowa – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently broke ground at 2625 NW Arterial in front of Kohls and TJ Maxx. The fast-casual restaurant franchise will make its Dubuque debut early next year, joining locations in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo.
“We’ve steadily increased our presence in Iowa and look forward to adding Dubuque to the list of communities we serve,” said Mike Young, franchise owner. “NW Arterial is a fast-growing retail corridor and we’re grateful to be part of the new development in the area. Our hope is to be a popular place for area shoppers looking for a quick bite to eat, as well as for families in the nearby neighborhoods on their way home from school or the Dubuque Soccer Complex.”
The 3,200 square-foot, free-standing restaurant will seat 90 guests and will have additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available. Freddy’s is known for its lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh several times throughout the day.
“First time guests can’t go wrong with our Original Double combo meal,” said Young. “We start with two steakburger patties pressed thin on a flat-top grill and perfectly seasoned with our famous steakburger seasoning. The patties are topped with cheese, mustard, pickle planks and slices of onion all on a toasted bun, and served alongside our crispy shoestring fries and an ice-cold drink.”
