GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently broke ground on Grand Rapids’ West Side at 25 Lake Michigan Dr. NW. The restaurant is slated to open in early spring and marks a second area location for the fast-casual concept, which made its Grand Rapids debut earlier this year at 3777 Plainfield Ave.

“Guests of our Plainfield Avenue restaurant frequently mention they appreciate our family-friendly atmosphere as much as our ground beef steakburgers and frozen custard,” said Joe Reber, franchise owner. “Our team works hard to seamlessly combine both to create a dining experience that’s enjoyable for guests of all ages.”

The 3,300 square-foot, free-standing location will seat 110 guests, with additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available. Menu items include lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh several times throughout the day.

“When first-time guests inquire about menu favorites, we regularly recommend the Original Double,” said Reber. “It comes with two thinly-pressed and lightly-seasoned steakburger patties that we sear on a flat grill until the edges are caramelized and crispy. We top the burger with cheese, mustard, pickle planks and onion slices, and serve on a toasted bun alongside a heaping portion of our crispy shoestring fries.”
