Freddy’s breaks ground on third Northland restaurant

KANSAS CITY, Mo.– Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently broke ground on its newest Kansas City metro market site. The restaurant will be located at 8071 NW Roanridge Road, adjacent to AMC BarryWoods 24 in the new Edgewood Farms retail development. It is slated to open in the spring of next year.

“This will be our third location in the Northland, joining the 9800 NE Barry Road restaurant and the 5150 N. Oak Trafficway site,” said Randy Simon, CFO and Co-Founder. “The Edgewood Farms development is a high-traffic area with good visibility from I-29. Main Event Entertainment, which is currently under construction, is a prime attraction, as well.”

The 3,476 square-foot, free-standing location will seat 110 guests, with additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available. Menu items will include signature lean ground beef steakburgers and fresh frozen custard, as well as newer items, including zesty fried pickles and a tangy jalapeño fry sauce.

Freddy’s plans to continue its Kansas City metro-market growth over the next few years. A location recently opened in Belton at 1822 E. North Ave. The company has its sights set on several additional parcels, including one in Raytown, although a development timeline has not yet been released.
