COLUMBIA, S.C.– Fast-casual restaurant, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, recently began site work at 457 Killian Road across from McDaniels Acura in Killian’s Crossing. The retro-style franchised concept is slated to open at the beginning of next year, and marks a third South Carolina site for the Kansas-based restaurant, joining locations in Easley and Greenville.

“We’re excited to bring our better-burger restaurant concept to guests of the Midlands,” said Brett Rickert, franchise owner. “The Killian Road corridor is thriving with commercial development and has direct access to I-77, making us a convenient dining option for area residents and those traveling to and from Charlotte. We’re pleased to be part of the new development in Columbia.”

The 3,000 square-foot, free-standing location will seat 100 guests, with additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available. Menu items include lean ground beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is freshly churned several times throughout the day.

“For those who have never tried a Freddy’s steakburger, you’re in for a real treat,” said Rickert. “Our signature Original Double combo meal, a guest favorite, is made with two steakburger patties thinly pressed and seared on the grill, topped with cheese, mustard, pickle planks and onions, all served on a toasted bun. The meal also includes a heaping portion of our shoestring fries and a drink.”
