Locations nationwide to offer $1 off frozen custard treats and donate to Kids In Need Foundation

WICHITA, Kan. – In honor of National Frozen Custard Day on Tuesday, August 8, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will offer $1 off all custard treat purchases. Fifty cents of every custard treat sold will be donated to Kids In Need Foundation, which provides free school supplies to teachers and students across the country.

“Teachers tell us that classroom participation, interest in learning and student self-esteem all increase greatly when kids have the supplies they need inside the classroom,” said Dave Smith, executive director, Kids In Need Foundation. “We are thankful to Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers for supporting our mission to provide school supplies to students in need, nationwide.”

Frozen Custard originated on New York’s Coney Island at the turn of the 20th century. It’s smoother and richer than ice cream, thanks to a time-tested churning process that minimizes ice crystals and excess air. Of course, Freddy’s makes a good thing even better by using only America’s finest dairy ingredients and by churning our frozen custard throughout the day, every day in each restaurant.

“For the second year, we are partnering with Kids In Need Foundation, and we are honored to support their mission,” said Scott Redler, COO. “As adults looking back, most of us remember the fun of picking out our backpack as summer break came to a close and filling it with the items on our school supply lists, and usually a little something extra too. At Freddy’s, we want to help make sure every kid gets excited about going back to school and they start the year ready to learn with the supplies they need.”
