HOMEWOOD, Ill. – Fast-casual restaurant concept, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers®, broke ground this week at 17601 Halsted St. in front of Target. The new restaurant is slated to open in the fall, marking a second location for Freddy’s in the Chicago metro. Freddy’s made its area debut in Orland Park earlier this year.

“Freddy’s is known as a better burger restaurant concept because of the values we strive to implement at each of our locations,” said Randy Simon, President and CEO. “Our teams work hard to provide a relaxing environment in the restaurant, focusing on cleanliness and quality service. We hope the Homewood community will enjoy our family-friendly dining experience and atmosphere with all of their family and friends.”

The 3,065 square-foot, freestanding restaurant seats 110 Guests and will have additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available. Freddy’s is known for its lean ground beef steakburgers, Vienna® Beef hot dogs and crispy shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is freshly churned several times throughout the day in each restaurant.

“Many of our Guests are interested to learn that frozen custard is denser, richer and creamier than ice cream, due to a churning process that eliminates ice crystals and excess air,” said Simon. “We churn it fresh on-site several times throughout the day in each restaurant. You have a choice of over 30 mix-ins, including traditional toppings, candy pieces and several different nut and fruit options. The custard combinations are endless.”
