CORDOVA, Tenn. – Fast-casual restaurant franchise Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers recently broke ground at 825 N. Germantown Pkwy. near Gameday Baseball park. The retro-style concept is slated to open in the spring and serves lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh several times throughout the day.

“We’ve been eyeing the Memphis-metro market for quite some time,” said Paul Hoover, franchise owner. “Cordova is an all-around match for our family-friendly concept and we hope to be a convenient dining option for local shoppers, families of the surrounding residential neighborhoods, and groups looking for a place to relax and have a quick, yet quality, meal in between or after games at the nearby Gameday Baseball park.”

The 3,010 square-foot, free-standing location will seat 100 guests, and will have additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service will also be available.

“Many first-time guests inquire about menu favorites, and we regularly recommend the Original Double,” said Hoover. “It comes with two thinly-pressed and lightly-seasoned steakburger patties that we sear on a flat grill until the edges are crispy and caramelized. We top the burger with cheese, mustard, two pickle planks and three onion slices, all served on a toasted bun alongside a heaping portion of our crispy shoestring fries.”
