Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers Hits San Diego Area

A popular fast-casual chain from the Midwest currently has three locations in the works for the San Diego area. Kansas-based Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, which was founded 14 years ago and counts more than 200 restaurant nationwide, should open its first outpost here next month in National City at 327 Mile of Cars Way.

As with all Freddy’s restaurants, each site seats about 100 guests and include an outdoor patio and drive-thru window. seating available on the patio, and drive-thru service. Another Freddy’s, which is in the midst of construction in San Marcos’ Nordahl Marketplace at 767 Center Drive, should open by the end of 2016, and we’re hearing that a third location is planned for the 4S Ranch Area. ‘

The concept, which pays homage to America in the late 1940s and early 1950s, offers a menu of signature lean ground beef steak burgers, Chicago dogs, patty melts and side ranging from seasoned fries to fried pickles. Desserts revolved around Freddy’s frozen custard, which features in shakes, concretes, malts and sundaes.
