KATHLEEN, Ga. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers makes its Central Georgia debut on Tuesday, July 19, at 678 Lake Joy Rd., in Kathleen. The fast-casual restaurant franchise plans donate 10 percent of its frozen custard sales for the first month to local non-profit organization Wyatt’s Wish. Freddy’s serves a variety of menu items, including lean ground beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs, and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is freshly churned throughout each day.

“First-time guests usually inquire about our steakburger,” said Ray Yarborough, franchise owner. “At Freddy’s, a steakburger starts with a lean ground beef patty we press thin on a flat grill and sear until the edges are crispy and caramelized. The Original Double, which comes with two patties topped with two slices of cheese and a few fresh toppings, is typically our top seller.”

The restaurant seats 100 guests, with additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“We’ve hired approximately 85 local individuals, and they’ve all worked hard to prepare for opening day,” said Yarborough. “We’re excited to open our doors, and we look forward to becoming a part of the Kathleen community.”
