LIBERAL, Kan. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opens its Liberal location on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 1980 N. Kansas Ave. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Liberal Chamber of Commerce is planned for 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 18. Representatives from Seward County United Way plan to be in attendance. The Seward County United Way will receive 10 percent of sales from all regular and large size frozen custard treats sold through Oct. 16.

“Residents of Liberal have been requesting that we join their community and we are excited to finally start serving guests in the area,” said Nick Esterline, franchise owner. “We hope to be a convenient dining option for students at Seward County Community College, as well as for friends and families who want to dine in and relax in a comfortable environment.”

The 2,615 square-foot, free-standing restaurant is developed by TGC Development Group out of Wichita, Kan., and is operated by JRI Management based in Salina, Kan. It seats 76 guests and has additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. The fast-casual restaurant concept is known for its menu items of lean ground beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and crispy shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh throughout the day.
