NATIONAL CITY, Calif. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will open its first San Diego metro-market location on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 327 Mile of Cars Way in National City. The fast-casual restaurant concept is known for its lean ground beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is freshly churned several times throughout each day.

“We press our steakburger patties thin to create deliciously crispy edges,” said Paul Hoover, franchise owner. “The Original Double is a good choice. It comes with two patties, two slices of cheese and a few fresh toppings, all served on a toasted bun.”

The 3,000 square-foot franchise restaurant seats 100 guests, and has additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“For dessert, we offer our chocolate or vanilla frozen custard and we have more than 30 toppings and mix-ins, including fruit, candy, and nuts,” said Hoover. “We also have a few signature specialties, including our popular Signature Turtle sundae. It’s made with our creamy vanilla custard and it’s topped with hot fudge, hot caramel, toasted pecans, whipped cream and a cherry.”
