Johnson City, Tenn. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will make its Johnson City debut on Wednesday, June 29, at 928 N. State of Franklin Rd. It is the second Tennessee location for the Kansas-based chain, which opened in Kingsport late last year.

“Our steakburgers are made with premium, lean ground beef,” said Bob Rasberry, franchise owner. “We press the patties thin to create deliciously crispy edges. To craft the Freddy’s Original Double combo meal—our most popular menu item—we top two patties with Freddy’s Famous Seasoning, two slices of melting cheese, mustard, onions and pickle planks, all on a toasted bun and serve it up with a side of our crispy shoestring fries.”

The 3,000-square-foot, free-standing location will seat 100 guests, with additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Menu items include steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of freshly-churned chocolate or vanilla frozen custard. Freddy’s is open Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“Guests come to Freddy’s for more than the food,” said Rasberry. “They come for the experience, too. We bring to life the America of the late 1940s and early 1950s, a post-war era of optimism pride and values focusing on unity and quality family time. It’s rare to find a dining establishment these days that promotes an atmosphere like that and it’s something our guests truly value.”
