ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Freddy’s opens in southwest Albuquerque on Tuesday, August 16, at the corner of Central Avenue and Coors Boulevard (131 Coors Blvd. NW). Co-founder, namesake and World War II veteran Freddy Simon, 91, plans to be in attendance at the restaurant over the lunch hour on Tuesday. The Coors Boulevard Freddy’s is the fourth area restaurant for the fast-casual concept; additional locations include 10701 Corrales Road NW, 6240 Paseo Del Norte NE, and 10201 Central Ave. NE.

“We truly appreciate all of the kind comments from our southwest Albuquerque fans regarding this new location, and we’re glad to make Freddy’s a more convenient dining option for area residents,” said Ken Brock, franchise operator. “It’s our priority to provide a consistent dining experience for our guests so that no matter which Freddy’s location they visit, they’ll receive the same cooked-to-order menu items and quality service. This new location will be no exception.”

The restaurant seats 100 guests with additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Menu items include lean ground beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs, and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is freshly churned throughout each day. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“Our steakburger patties are made with premium, lean ground beef,” said Brock. “We press the patties thin and sear on the flat grill until the edges are crispy and caramelized. The Original Double, our most popular burger, comes standard with mustard, onion slices, and pickle planks, but we have quite a few additional condiments and toppings for our guests to substitute if they’d like, including lettuce, tomato, Hatch chiles and jalapeño peppers.”
