CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Fast-casual restaurant concept, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, opens in Champaign on Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 420 W. Towncenter Blvd. near Market Place Shopping Center. Freddy’s is known for its menu of lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh throughout the day.
“At Freddy’s, we strive to provide fast, friendly service and premium quality food in an environment that’s comfortable for all guests,” said Matt Myerscough, franchise operator. “We’re a convenient stop to grab a quick bite to eat, and we’re also a great spot for groups to meet up after sports games and other events. We’ll help you push the tables together so you can relax and enjoy a fresh meal and dessert treat with family and friends.”
The 3,500 square-foot, end-cap restaurant seats 100 guests and has additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
“Many of our guests are interested to learn that frozen custard is denser, richer and creamier than ice cream, due to a churning process that eliminates ice crystals and excess air,” said Myerscough. “We churn it fresh onsite several times throughout the day. The Signature Turtle Sundae is a fan favorite that combines hot fudge and hot caramel atop vanilla custard with salted pecans and, of course, whipped cream and a cherry.”
