SAN MARCOS, Texas – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers will make its San Marcos debut on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 310 N. IH 35. The fast-casual restaurant concept is known for its cooked-to-order menu of steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs, and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh several times throughout the day.

“At Freddy’s, a steakburger starts with premium, lean ground beef,” said James Oberg, franchise owner. “The patties are pressed thin on a flat grill and cooked until the edges are crispy, and the center is juicy and flavorful. Our most popular burger, the Original Double, comes standard with two patties topped with two slices of cheese, mustard, onion slices, and pickle planks.”

The 3,251 square-foot franchise restaurant will seat 100 guests with additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Hours of operation are Sunday through Wednesday 10:30 a.m. to midnight and Thursday through Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Frozen custard is denser, richer and creamier than traditional ice cream, due to a churning process that eliminates excess air and ice crystals,” said Oberg. “We have more than 30 mix-ins, including candy bites, traditional toppings, and several different fruit and nut options; the combinations are endless.”
