WYLIE, Texas – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opens its newest location on Sunday, May 14, at 2814 E FM 544. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Wylie Chamber of Commerce is planned for 10 a.m. on Monday, May 15. Representatives from Gateway Community Church plan to be in attendance. The organization’s Children’s Ministry will receive 10 percent of sales from all regular and large size frozen custard treats sold through June 13.
“We partnered with various local organizations prior to our opening to get to know residents from the area, and to build a relationship with the community,” said Jason Ingermanson, franchise operator. “On April 24, we served custard for 400 people at the Taste of Wylie, where proceeds from the event went to the Christian Care Center. We’re grateful for the warm welcome to the neighborhood and look forward to serving our Wylie guests.”
The 3,600 square-foot, freestanding restaurant is developed by McClure Partners out of Dallas, and is operated by JRI Management based in Salina, Kan. It seats 118 and has additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Freddy’s is known for its signature lean ground-beef steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is churned fresh throughout the day.
The restaurant opening marks a fifth Freddy’s for the greater DFW market. Other locations include Highland Village, Keller, Euless, and The Colony. An additional site for the fast-casual restaurant recently broke ground in Terrell and is slated to open in the summer.
