HOMEWOOD, Ill. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers®, a fast-casual restaurant concept, opens its second Chicago-area location Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 17601 S. Halsted St. in front of Target. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Homewood Chamber of Commerce is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 10 a.m. Freddy’s made its area debut earlier this year with a location in Orland Park, and has locations currently under construction in Frankfort and Lake Zurich that are slated to open by the end of the year and early next year, respectively.

“Our opening in Homewood joins our corporate location in Orland Park as the second Freddy’s restaurant in the Chicago metro,” said Randy Simon, President and CEO. “We’ve enjoyed getting to know guests at that location and look forward to steadily increasing our presence in the market over the next few years.”

The 3,476 square-foot, freestanding restaurant seats 110 guests and has additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Hours of operation are 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Freddy’s is known for its cooked-to-order steakburgers made with lean 100 percent ground beef, Vienna® Beef hot dogs, crispy shoestring fries and frozen custard treats made with freshly churned chocolate or vanilla frozen custard.

“The Original Double is a signature favorite that we like to recommend to first-time guests who want to get a feel of the Freddy’s taste,” said Simon. “It’s crafted with two thinly-pressed steakburger patties topped with cheese, mustard, pickle planks and onion slices. The burger is served on a toasted bun alongside our crispy shoestring fries, or you can opt to try our crunchy onion rings or white cheddar cheese curds as a side.”
