For the few people that did not pack the restaurant on Sunday, October 23, Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers is officially open in Great Bend. A ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce was held Monday, October 24 on 10th Street.
Chamber of Commerce CEO Jan Peters says it was exciting to bring a restaurant chain like Freddy’s to Great Bend.
Developed by TGC Development Group, and operated by JRI Management, the 3,010 square-foot franchise restaurant in Great Bend seats 100 guests and has additional seating on the patio.
Between full-time and part-time workers, Peters says Freddy’s will employ roughly 100 people.
Making an effort to be involved in the community, The United Way of Central Kansas will receive 10 percent of sales from all regular and large-size frozen custard sold through November 23.
Co-founded in 2002 by Scott Redler and Bill, Randy and Freddy Simon, Freddy’s opened its first location in Wichita. Today, 221 Freddy’s restaurants serve a total of 30 states.
