LAFAYETTE, La. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opens its second Lafayette location on Sunday, July 10, at 521 Bertrand Dr., across from Cajun Field. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sunday. Representatives from Boys & Girls Club of Acadiana plan to attend the ribbon cutting, and the Club will receive 10 percent of all regular and large size frozen custard treats sold from July 10 to August 10.

“We’ve genuinely enjoyed becoming a part of the Lafayette community, and we appreciate the local support,” said Nick Esterline, franchise owner. “We chose this site for our second location because it’s in a prime retail corridor. We’re looking forward to becoming a popular spot for local residents and area shoppers, and of course, visitors to and from Cajun Field.”

Developed by TGC Development Group out of Wichita, Kan., and operated by JRI Management out of Salina, Kan., the 3,020-square-foot, free-standing location seats 100 guests, with additional seating on the patio. Drive-thru service is also available. Menu items include steakburgers, Vienna Beef hot dogs, and shoestring fries, as well as dessert treats prepared with a choice of chocolate or vanilla frozen custard that is freshly churned throughout each day. Freddy’s is open Sunday through Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“The Freddy’s Original Double combo meal is a guest favorite,” said Jason Ingermanson. “Two, lean ground beef patties are pressed thin and seared on the flat grill. We top the patties with our famous seasoning, two slices of cheese, mustard, onion slices and pickle planks, all served on a toasted bun with a side of our crispy shoestring fries. Or, swap the fries for a side of our popular fried pickles.”
