WICHITA, Kan. – Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers today released highlights of the company’s 2017 performance. Estimates for record-setting systemwide sales and charitable giving boost the company’s momentum headed into the new year.

“We measure many things in the restaurant business. Among them at Freddy’s, we like to keep a close eye on how many guests we serve and how we support the communities that choose to eat at Freddy’s,” said CEO Randy Simon. “This year, we’ve made substantial gains in both categories and we believe those successes are interdependent.”

Freddy’s was recently recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals as the Wichita-area 2017 Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation. In addition, the fast-casual restaurant concept expects to end the year with 50 new restaurant openings. Those locations include a first in the state of Mississippi and many new markets around the country. New restaurant growth in 2018 is predicted to climb slightly higher.

“Growing our unit count by more than 21% this year is notable, that obviously becomes harder to do as the base grows. The ongoing investments of our franchisees and their commitment to the concept is what drives us. We continue to invest in our shared success,” said Simon. “We are also unified with so many of our great operators on our charitable efforts. Our fundraiser nights continue as a great vehicle for non-profit groups to raise money for their missions. Across the system, we collected donations for hurricane relief this summer and our Veteran’s Donation Boxes in each restaurant also returned more than $100,000 to local non-profits that support veterans and military families. Within the local markets, we support as many schools, churches and charitable organizations as we can fit on the calendar and I think these donations also make a positive impact.”
